The parade of nations is always an opportunity for the host nation to show off a little flair, and the festivities in Chiang Mai did not disappoint. Literal flare – or in this case, fireworks!

Next Up is the Vertical Mountain Running race, an all uphill race that covers 5.3 miles with 3,494 feet of climbing (8.5-kilometers, 1065-meters). The women’s team will be led by Lauren Gregory, Allie McLaughlin, and Rachel Tomajczyk – while the men will be led by defending champion Joseph Gray as well as Dan Curts and Cameron Smith.
