Letter From the Editor

Share the trail love:
Headshot of Corrine Malcolm, Editor-in-Chief at Freetrail

Freetrail Editor in Chief and co-host of the Trail Society podcast.

Trail Fam!

I’m Corrine Malcolm, Freetrail’s new Editor-in-Chief. While my voice will still be piped into your headphones as the co-host of the Trail Society podcast (and whenever Dylan hands me a mic) you’ll find me here operating both behind the scenes and in written words. My goal, to provide you with consistent trail tales from every corner of our sport.

In many ways this feels like my 100-mile debut… standing on the start line, eager, readying myself to leap with both feet into the unknown. Just like an ultra we can’t predict exactly what will happen, but we know where we are headed and excited for the journey.
Some nausea is normal I’m told.

Just like our trail and ultra-running community, we are growing and evolving – but our mission remains the same! We love trail running and everything that intersects it. We believe that trail running is a tool for good and is the lens through which we strive to tell stories, educate, and bring you in as members of this community.

Here you will find stories from myself and a group of regular contributors, as well as athlete journals and stories from the field as we keep our finger on the pulse of our sport. Most importantly we want to hear from you! Our goal is to not be gatekeepers but rather idea amplifiers. Do you have a story, an experience, or thoughts you want to share? Reach out! Let us give you a platform and help us grow this community.

I’m off to find a little inspiration, and I know all I need to do is lace up my shoes.
