Keely Henninger
Keely Henninger is the lead of the performance coaching team. For the last 4 years she worked as a biomechanics and physiology scientist for Nike studying athlete performance, injury, female athletes, hormones, and running economy. Prior to that she spent 2.5 years as a performance engineer working on performance algorithms and training plan development. She is published in research on the energetics of uphill hiking & running and is currently conducting research on the prevalence of energy availability, exercise dependence, and eating disorders and the relationship to fueling in trail and ultra athletes.
Keely is a full-time professional athlete who puts her knowledge to the test in her current training and racing. She has won the Lake Sonoma 50 mile (2x), Chuckanut 50k, Gorge Waterfalls 50k, USA 50-mile championships, placed top 10 at the Western States 100, and consistently in the top 5 at races like Lavaredo, Ultra Trail Cape Town, & CCC (UTMB).
Coaching Philosophy
Running purposeful, quality miles, will allow you to build fitness without unnecessary miles and stress. Fueling, rest, and easy days are just as important as the hard days and by practicing fueling during training , you will be able to race and train to your fullest.
